[100% working] OnePlus 3/3T Showing Device Temperature Too Low, Unable to charge
Today, I got a OnePlus 3T mobile for repair and the issue was, while charging the phone, it was showing, Device Temperature Too Low, cannot charge. I dissembled the phone and found that one of the six battery tracks was broken from the mainboard. Further, traced the lines and found that the track of one of the six points of the battery connector was open. It was the temperature sensor track. So, even after fixing the connector back on the board, the phone would turn on with whatever battery charge was left. But, the phone won’t charge. When plugging in the charger, it shows:
DEVICE TEMPERATURE TOO LOW, CANNOT CHARGE
This is the photo of the actual error the phone was showing:
Out of the six points of the battery connector tracks, two are ground (battery -, black in the image below) and two are for VBAT+ (battery +, red in the image below). The other two are for the battery sensor:
The green color track (in the image above) was open on the board and there was no easy trace for it.
I tried to search the internet for the full battery connector ways, but couldn’t find any. After spending some time on it, I figured out the missing line. Made a jumper and fixed the battery connector properly and whoila! The issue was fixed and the phone started charging properly. Here is the complete diagram for the fix:
We need a micro soldering iron to make such jumpers as the soldering points are very tiny as well as the space to re-work is too small. You can buy one from Amazon:
Amazon India – https://amzn.to/3jZy6Bg
Amazon US – https://amzn.to/32xti00
I’m sure this would help a lot of people facing this issue. If you have the same issue and couldn’t find a solution yet, try this and I’m sure this would fix your issue 100%.

Please follow the solution provided here. This would fix the issue.
Is this safe?
Yes, as we are just connecting the broken line.
Hey sorry for bothering you. I wanted to ask how did u solder the wire. It seems tedious to me. Any tips?
You need a micro soldering iron to do this job. For example, this is the one you can buy from Amazon https://amzn.to/3jZy6Bg
Thank you for this tutorial. Just to understand better, you removed the diode, then short-circuited the two points marked in green and connected them with the upper track for the battery sensor, correct?
No Pace, I haven’t removed the diode. I have mentioned that in case the diode is damaged or missing from the place, you can bridge it. In my case, the diode was in place in-tact, so I didn’t need to remove it. Just connected the line from battery connector to one of the point of the diode as depicted in the picture.
Have more questions, feel free to drop your comment, thank you!
Hi, thank you very much for sharing this tutorial. I wanted to try to fix my OP3T, I have a micro soldering iron but this is the first time I have tried things like this, I have some questions, if possible:
-The soldering wire should be 0.5mm, right?
-What kind of wire did you use to connect the two points? Would an earphone wire be fine? I guess it must be isolated, right?
-Do I need the flux?
-Do i need anything else?
Thanks again!
Hey Spectre, thank you for stopping by. Please find below the answers to your question:
– The 0.5 mm soldering wire should be fine. There is no issue with the size of the soldering wire. Make sure it is of good quality
– A 0.1-0.3mm cosated wire should be fine. Some earphone wires are okay but it would be difficult to solder them because of the cotton thread. You can try that. Here are the types of jumper wires for your reference:

https://amzn.to/3rDuYA7
– Yes, it would be very hard for you to solder without the flux
These items should be enough for the fix. You can have a magnifier to see the components propery as they are very tiny. Feel free to comment if you have more doubt before you attempt the repair. All the best.
Hi Vishal ,
My oneplus 3t developed the same problem .
I’ve opened the phone and checked for continuity between the battery female tracks on the main board ,and found that the positive(+) track is open ,and also the the middle sensor track is open .
Could it be that the positive is open because the black diode is damaged ?
Should I remove the diode and short the 2 points(green in the picture),and then continue with the jump connection as shown by you ?
Thanks
Vishal,
on the above question, what I mean by a ”black diode” is the little black diode that is located between the 2 green dots shown in the pictures that you posted on this thread .
Thanks.
Hi Sergio Ramirez, if you have access to a multimeter, please check the continuity of the diaode. If it is continous, then there might be problem with the connector. And, the battery positive connector is separate from the middle once connecting to the sensor. First, cross check whether your + track really isn’t giving any reading on the meter. In that case, check the big black diaoge on the right side of the connector.
this is track missing .temprechar haigh solution other trick aolution sir
